I am intrigued by the work, it is at once breathless and easy and again technically awesome. I teach 6th and 8th grde students and the ater sketching may be a great creative bridge. Can you share a bit of information on the process.
Thank you YRB, I'm sorry for the late reply, hopefully you'll see this soon? My technique is simple, just sketching light with a .3mm mechanical pencil, can barely see any lines, then I start to lay in color very lightly and slowly build to my darks. It's all about control with watercolor.
SEILER (Syler) is an award winning artist (who cares?), specializing in portraits, character design, and humorous illustration. Some of his clients include Rolling Stone, TIME magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Penguin Group, GOLF magazine, Guitar Player, The Weekly Standard, Business Week, MAD magazine and the Village Voice, among many others.
SEILER also teaches drawing and painting high end caricature illustration at Schoolism.com When not drawing or painting, SEILER spends the rest of his time with his two gorgeous girls, Isabeau and Ava!

I really like the way the background looks 'layered' - great technique!
